For over seventy years, Bath Gilbert and Sullivan Society has been appreciating, performing and promoting the works of one of musical theatre’s most successful and enduring partnerships. Between 1871 and 1896 WS Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan produced 13 comic operas which are still regularly staged throughout the English speaking world and beyond. The Society is affiliated to NODA and the national Gilbert and Sullivan Society.
Our busy and enjoyable schedule includes concerts, plays, old time music hall nights, talks, film showings, charity and social events. The season culminates in a fully staged production at the end of May and normally ends with a programme of charity concerts in late June, early July.
Following our very successful production of Princess Ida in June, we 've just started our 2016 -17 season and are currently in rehearsals for our concert performance of Jacques Offenbach's most famous operetta 'Orpheus in the Underworld'. We'll be presenting four performances at The Mission Theatre, Bath from 24 - 26 November. Visit our galleries page for some pictures from our previous performances!
